Posted: 25 Jun 2019 03:10 AM PDT I've recently learned that cancer may spread into different tissues (for example prostate cancer into the bone). Since cancer is usually not caused by any pathogenic microorganism, which could infect other parts of the body, how does it spread into different organs? [link] [comments] |

Does earths magnetic field affect satellite/spacecraft orbits in any way? Posted: 25 Jun 2019 12:48 AM PDT If so does this mean that when calculating an orbit (especially a polar orbit), the magnetic field has to be taken into account? [link] [comments] |
Bigger difference in ectronegativity leads to better protection? Posted: 25 Jun 2019 02:23 AM PDT Is it true that when chosing a metal for cathodic protection the bigger difference in potential also leads to better protection? So if the metals all work in the current circumstances it's better to use the one with the biggest difference to the metal that needs to be protected. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Jun 2019 08:30 AM PDT This is less than a scientific observation, but a couple's first child is handled with extreme care, the doctor is visited after small coughs, they worry greatly, often unnecessarily. By their 3rd or 4th child, the couple knows what to expect and treats their offspring a bit tougher (waiting to go to the doctor, not worrying as much when they fall, etc.). Do animals also change parenting behaviors based on how many offspring they've had? [link] [comments] |

Does "Child Benefit" incentivize child birth? Posted: 24 Jun 2019 02:51 PM PDT Countries like Canada and Australia provide and income to their citizens that are parents or guardians of children. At first glance it naturally sounds like an incentive and like it could impact child birth rate to go up. What I'm looking for of course is scientific evidence and studies in this topic. Why is it difficult to see yellow on a white background? Posted: 24 Jun 2019 08:50 AM PDT Assuming normal human vision, what is it about the human eye or the color yellow or both that makes yellow inherently more difficult to distinguish on a white background than other colors? [link] [comments] |

Can flow that has exited the throat of a converging-only nozzle exceed Mach 1? Posted: 25 Jun 2019 02:29 AM PDT Or can this condition only occur if it is contained/guided within a diverging cone? [link] [comments] |
How do you start a nuclear reactor? Posted: 24 Jun 2019 08:11 PM PDT I'm probably totally wrong about all of this but from what I read To get the reaction going you need a neutron source of some sort of fusion going on like spontaneously reacting nuclear materials. I honestly don't really know [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Jun 2019 07:59 PM PDT And if so, what chemicals/compounds would produce a very large or very tiny rainbow? [link] [comments] |
How do we know all the layers of the earth? Posted: 24 Jun 2019 09:03 AM PDT From my understanding we havent drilled past the upper crust so how do we know all the layers below it? [link] [comments] |
Why are opioids (thought to be) ineffective for neuropathic pain? Posted: 24 Jun 2019 09:21 AM PDT A pretty controversial topic, but overall, it's accepted that they don't help. How does the mechanism for neuropathic pain differ from that of nociceptive pain, and why does that matter in relation to opioids' mechanism of action? [link] [comments] |

What's the difference between polyethylene and a very long linear paraffin? Posted: 24 Jun 2019 09:35 AM PDT As asked in the title, shouldn't they be just the same, a long chain of CH2 groups between two CH3 groups? [link] [comments] |
